Yesterday there was a big bowl of pears in the kitchen from amazing printmaker Linda Simmel's amazing pear tree.
So I took photos of them.
And then I pealed and poached them in white wine and honey to make a pear and hazelnut flan.
I am not an amazing baker, and I have never made flan before. According to the cookbook it was supposed to look like this
But I think mine has more character.
